How long will my chauffeur wait at JFK, LaGuardia or Newark?
30 minutes from your flight’s actual arrival time, at all three airports. The flight is tracked, so an early or late landing moves the wait with it. Immigration queues at JFK and Newark can eat into that time, so switch your phone on once you land and message the booking desk if you are held up. Waiting past the 30 minutes may be charged as extra, and if you have not reached the meeting point within the waiting time and cannot be contacted, the booking is treated as a no-show.
What happens if my flight into New York is delayed?
The pickup moves with it: your flight is tracked, and the 30-minute wait counts from its actual arrival time rather than the schedule. If the delay puts an onward flight at risk, tell the booking desk as soon as you know. Newark, for one, has listed periodic weekday-night closures of runway 4L-22R since January 2026 while the runway is rehabilitated, which is one more reason to track the real arrival time.
How long does it take to get from JFK to LaGuardia?
About 30 to 60 minutes by road, depending on traffic, which is the Port Authority’s estimate for the drive between the two. On separate tickets the drive is only part of the connection: you collect your bags at JFK, clearing immigration before the belt and customs after it if you flew in from abroad, and go through security again at LaGuardia. We book it as a terminal-to-terminal transfer with both flights on the request.
Can I land at JFK and fly out of Newark on separate tickets?
Yes, as long as you leave enough time: the Port Authority puts the drive between the two at about 60 to 100 minutes. With separate tickets, the airline flying you out of Newark is not responsible for a late arrival into JFK, so leave a margin for the border, your bags and check-in as well as the road. Give us both flights and we quote the transfer between the airports.
Which New York airport is closest to Manhattan?
LaGuardia, at about eight miles from Midtown on NYC Tourism’s figures, against about 15 miles for JFK and 16 for Newark. Newark is also the one outside New York State, on the New Jersey side of the Hudson, so check the code on your ticket: EWR is Newark, while JFK and LGA are the two airports in Queens.
Does Manhattan’s congestion toll affect my transfer?
It does if your route enters the Congestion Relief Zone, the part of Manhattan at and below 60th Street, which the MTA has tolled since January 2025. A journey that keeps to the FDR Drive, the West Side Highway or the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel connections to West Street is not tolled. The amount depends on the type of vehicle, and for private cars on the time of day; where it applies, it is either included in the quote or shown in it as an additional charge, so it is not added unexpectedly after you book.
Should I take the AirTrain or the bus instead?
Often, yes, if you travel light, and JFK itself recommends mass transit while it is rebuilt. AirTrain JFK meets the subway at Howard Beach and Jamaica, and from Jamaica the Long Island Rail Road takes about 20 minutes to Penn Station or Grand Central Madison. From Newark, the AirTrain with NJ Transit or Amtrak takes about an hour to Midtown, and at LaGuardia the Q70 bus runs to the subway at Jackson Heights. A private transfer is simpler with heavy luggage, children, a late-night arrival or an address far from a station.
