Amsterdam airport transfer pre-booked and private.

A pre-booked private car from Amsterdam Schiphol to your address, with a named chauffeur, your flight tracked and a full quote before you pay.

Nothing is charged until you accept the quote.

At a glance

What you get with an Amsterdam airport transfer

Schiphol is a single terminal: three departure halls, numbered arrival halls and Schiphol Plaza at the centre, with the railway station directly beneath it. The train reaches Amsterdam Centraal quickly, but many Amsterdam addresses lie on narrow 17th-century streets inside the A10 ring road. We arrange a pre-booked private car with a named chauffeur who tracks your flight and waits 30 minutes from its actual arrival time. You receive a full quote before you pay, and your chauffeur is named before pickup.

  • Your chauffeur waits 30 minutes from your flight’s actual arrival time.
  • A full quote before you pay, usually within two hours, reflecting distance, vehicle class, add-ons and any late-night, public holiday or short-notice charges.
  • Pay online by secure payment link or bank transfer, and your booking is confirmed once paid. If a road or airport charge applies, you see it in the quote, either included or shown as an extra. Waiting beyond the included time may carry a charge.
  • Changes and cancellations up to 48 hours before your flight under the standard policy, less any costs already incurred; a few airports and services differ.
  • Economy, Business or First Class, in a sedan, SUV or van, with a bus for larger groups.
  • Schiphol lies more than four metres below sea level, and its railway station sits directly beneath the terminal.

Price

What your quote depends on

Every journey is quoted on its own rather than sold from a price list, so the figure you receive is for your booking. These are the things that move it. Nothing is charged until you accept the quote. Tolls, where they apply, are either included in it or shown in it as an additional charge, and heavy traffic does not change the quoted price.

Where inside Amsterdam you are going Amsterdam's 17th-century streets were not designed for cars, central districts are shared with trams and cyclists, and the city says 80% of its roads are limited to 30 km/h. Give us the exact address, not just 'Amsterdam', so the quote reflects the real journey.
Traffic on the A4 and A10, and late arrivals The road route into the city runs on the A4 and the A10 ring road, and rush hour on those two roads decides much of the journey time, though not the quoted price. If you land late at night, any late-night charge is included in your quote before you pay.
King's Day and public holidays King's Day, 27 April, is a national holiday, and in 2027 it falls on a Tuesday. In 2026 the city closed the centre inside the S100 ring road to cars for the day, so tell us whether your address is inside that ring when you book. Any public holiday charge appears in your quote before you pay.
Amsterdam, or further afield Schiphol is a national rail hub with direct trains to Utrecht, Leiden, The Hague, Delft and Rotterdam. If you are heading beyond the city, give us the exact address and the vehicle class you need, and the quote is for that journey.

When you land

Landing at Schiphol

Everything at Schiphol runs through one terminal, but the queue you join and the arrival hall you walk out of depend on where you have flown from and which passport you hold.

  1. 01

    Before you fly

Look up your flight on schiphol.nl or in the Schiphol app. Each arriving flight's page shows its arrival hall, baggage belt and the time you can expect to be outside, and Schiphol publishes expected crowd levels for arrivals. Keep your voucher to hand, and your chauffeur is named before pickup.

  2. 02

    Passport control

Arrivals from Schengen countries skip it. From elsewhere, non-EU passport holders follow the signs to an Entry/Exit System kiosk or a Royal Netherlands Marechaussee desk; EES registration has been mandatory since 10 April 2026, and waits of one to two hours were reported in August 2026.

  3. 03

    Baggage and customs

Your belt number is on the flight page, and the Schiphol app shows when bags have been unloaded onto the belt. After customs, signs lead to your arrival hall and on into Schiphol Plaza, where the station, bus stops and official taxi rank are signposted.

  4. 04

    Meeting your chauffeur

Your chauffeur tracks your flight and waits 30 minutes from its actual arrival time. If the passport queue is long, contact the booking desk, which answers 24 hours a day. Any wait past those 30 minutes can be charged, and if you have not reached the meeting point within the waiting time and cannot be contacted, the booking counts as a no-show.

  5. 05

    On the way

Once you leave the A10 ring road, the pace drops. With most of the city’s roads limited to 30 km/h, the last stretch to a canal-side address can be slow.

Schiphol at a glance

One terminal, three departure halls Departure halls 1, 2 and 3 are connected airside, with piers radiating from Schiphol Plaza. Schiphol expects its new Pier A, with room for eight more aircraft, to be ready in 2027.
eGates for EU passports At passport control, which the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee runs, EU passport holders aged 14 and over can use the eGates if their passport contains a chip.
Train beneath the terminal Schiphol Airport station is directly under the terminal. Trains run to Amsterdam Centraal eight times an hour in about 14 to 17 minutes, and the airport has rail links to Amsterdam, Utrecht, Leiden, The Hague, Delft and Rotterdam around the clock.
Bus, taxi and pick-up parking Bus 397, the Amsterdam Airport Express, runs into the city from the bus station in front of Schiphol Plaza, and the Niteliner N97 takes over at night; the bus station is being rebuilt, so follow the signs to the current stop. The official taxi rank is also in front of Schiphol Plaza, and P1 pick-up parking is a two to six minute walk from the arrival halls.

Schiphol advises against taking taxis that are offered to you without asking. With a pre-booked transfer, the only person you are looking for is the chauffeur the booking desk has named for you.

AMS

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS)

Schiphol lies south-west of Amsterdam, in the municipality of Haarlemmermeer, on the bed of the old Haarlemmer Lake, drained in 1852; it handled 68.8 million passengers in 2025, more than a third of them transferring. Landing on the Polderbaan, Schiphol’s longest runway at 3,800 metres, can add time before you reach the gate: Schiphol itself mentions its rather long taxi times.

Terminals Schiphol is a single terminal with three departure halls (1, 2 and 3) connected airside and piers radiating from Schiphol Plaza, and each arriving flight is assigned a numbered arrival hall. Tell us your flight number when you book.

Questions

Amsterdam airport transfer questions

How long will my chauffeur wait at Schiphol?

30 minutes from your flight's actual arrival time, which we track. Non-EU passport queues at Schiphol were reported at one to two hours in August 2026, so keep your phone on once you land and contact the booking desk, open 24 hours, if you are held up. Waiting beyond 30 minutes can carry an additional charge, and a passenger who has not reached the meeting point within the waiting time and cannot be contacted is treated as a no-show.

Is the train not quicker into Amsterdam?

To Amsterdam Centraal, often yes: Schiphol says trains run eight times an hour and take about 14 to 17 minutes, usually faster than by road. A private transfer makes more sense when your address is on the canal ring or away from a station, when you have heavy luggage or a group, or when you are continuing by road to another Dutch city.

Do I have to go through passport control at Schiphol?

Only if you arrive from outside the Schengen area. Non-EU passport holders on a short stay register in the European Entry/Exit System, mandatory since 10 April 2026, at a kiosk or a Royal Netherlands Marechaussee desk; the registration is valid for up to three years or until the passport expires.

How do I know which arrival hall I will come out of?

Schiphol assigns each flight an arrival hall, shown with the baggage belt on the flight's page at schiphol.nl and in the Schiphol app. The booking desk tells you where to meet your chauffeur.

Is it harder to reach central Amsterdam on King's Day?

Yes, and by car especially. On King's Day 2026 (Monday 27 April) the city closed everything inside the S100 ring road to cars for the day, leaving the centre to emergency services, and GVB, the city's transport operator, warned the centre would be harder to reach; the city announces the 2027 arrangements closer to the day. If you land that day with a city-centre address, tell us when you book; the full quote, including any public holiday charge, comes before you pay.

How do I pay, and can I change or cancel?

You pay online, by secure payment link or bank transfer, and the booking is confirmed once payment is received. Under the standard policy, changes and cancellations are accepted up to 48 hours before the flight, with any costs already incurred deducted; a few airports and services differ, and the Terms set out the full policy.

Waiting time, changes, cancellations and refunds are set out in full in our Terms & Conditions.
