How far south you are going
Bandra Kurla Complex and the western suburbs are close to the airport. Nariman Point, near the southern tip of the peninsula, is roughly 22 km away by road.
The Sea Link toll
A route south over the Bandra–Worli Sea Link crosses a toll bridge. Any toll charges are listed in your quote before you pay, not added on the day.
Late nights, festivals and short notice
Late-night pickups, public holidays and short-notice bookings can each carry a charge, shown in the quote. On Anant Chaturdashi, the final immersion day of Ganeshotsav, the traffic police close and divert roads across the city, particularly in South Mumbai.

Before you land
Foreign nationals, including OCI cardholders, file India's e-Arrival Card online up to 72 hours before landing, through the Indian Visa Online website or the Su-Swagatam app; paper disembarkation cards for foreign nationals were withdrawn from 1 April 2026.

Immigration at Terminal 2
Every international arrival clears immigration at T2, which has 76 counters for arriving passengers. Have your passport and visa in hand before you reach the desks. Domestic arrivals at either terminal skip immigration altogether.

Baggage and customs
Screens show the belt for your flight across T2's 14 baggage carousels. Customs then splits into a green channel for nothing to declare and a red channel for dutiable goods.

Meeting your chauffeur
The airport's arrival guide names the Arrival Hall as the place to meet pre-arranged transport, with vehicles reached from the multi-level car park, where taxi and app-cab operators each use different levels. You do not need to work that out: Your voucher, sent 24 hours before pickup, gives your chauffeur’s name and the vehicle, and your chauffeur waits 30 minutes from your flight's actual arrival time.

On the way
From T2, the six-lane Sahar Elevated Access Road runs 2.2 km to the Western Express Highway. Heading south, the tolled Bandra–Worli Sea Link and the Coastal Road now connect Bandra to Marine Lines, but road time still swings with the hour and, from June to September, with the monsoon.
The two terminals, and the ways out
Terminal 2, Sahar
Opened to international flights in February 2014. Handles every international flight plus domestic services by Air India, Air India Express, some IndiGo flights and, since August 2026, Akasa Air. Linked to the Western Express Highway by its own elevated road.
Terminal 1, Santacruz
Domestic only, used by low-cost carriers including IndiGo, SpiceJet, Alliance Air and Star Air. The operator plans to move at least a third of T1's flights to T2 from 25 October 2026, ahead of redevelopment of part of T1 from January 2027.
Between the terminals
They share an airfield but not a kerb: by road it is a 15 to 20 minute drive. The airport runs a complimentary inter-terminal coach around the clock, departing every 25 minutes, and each terminal has its own Aqua Line station, two stops apart.
Public transport
The Aqua Line runs from both terminals south through Bandra Kurla Complex, Dadar and Worli to Cuffe Parade. Suburban trains stop at Vile Parle (East) for T1 and Andheri (East) for T2, and air-conditioned city buses link the airport with Thane, Navi Mumbai, Borivali and South Mumbai.
Terminal allocations at Mumbai are changing in late 2026, and some international flights may move to Navi Mumbai International Airport, about 35 km away. Check your airline's latest confirmation and tell us the airport and terminal it shows. Changes are accepted up to 48 hours before the flight.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM)
Mumbai's main airport sits inside the city, across the suburbs of Santacruz and Sahar in Vile Parle East, rather than on its outskirts. It handled more than 55.1 million passengers in 2024–25, above its stated capacity of 50 million, while normally using only one of its two intersecting runways at a time; since 2013 the second has been kept for when the main runway is unavailable. Since October 2025 the underground Aqua Line has run from both terminals all the way south to Cuffe Parade.

Mumbai airport transfer questions
How long will my chauffeur wait at Mumbai airport?
30 minutes from your flight's actual arrival time, which we track. International arrivals at T2 clear immigration, baggage and customs before reaching the exit, so if you expect to need longer, say so when you book. Waiting beyond 30 minutes can carry an additional charge, and a passenger who cannot be reached is treated as a no-show.
What happens if my flight into Mumbai is delayed?
Your flight is tracked and the 30-minute wait starts from its actual arrival time, not the scheduled one, so a late landing does not use it up. The same applies when schedules move for planned closures: each year, ahead of the monsoon, the airport shuts both runways for several hours of scheduled maintenance, planned in advance with the airlines.
Which terminal will I arrive at in Mumbai?
All international flights arrive at Terminal 2. Domestic flights use T1 or T2 depending on the airline, and IndiGo has operated from both. From 25 October 2026 the airport operator plans to move at least a third of T1's flights to T2, so check your airline's confirmation close to travel and tell us the terminal it shows.
Am I landing at Mumbai or Navi Mumbai?
The Mumbai region now has two airports. Navi Mumbai International Airport, in Ulwe about 35 km from this one, opened to commercial flights on 25 December 2025, and the operator has proposed moving part of Mumbai's international traffic there from October 2026. If your ticket says BOM, you are landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International, the airport this page covers.
Does the monsoon affect transfers in Mumbai?
Mumbai's monsoon runs from June to September, and persistent heavy rain can waterlog parts of the city and cause long delays on its roads and trains. For departure transfers in those months, build extra time into the pickup you ask for.

You get a full quote before you pay, usually within two hours, including any late-night, public holiday, short-notice or toll charges, such as the Bandra–Worli Sea Link toll if your route crosses it. Can I change or cancel my Mumbai booking?
