Abu Dhabi runs smart gates that many passport holders can use, and staffed desks for everyone else. Queues build when several long-haul flights land together.

About the airport

Terminal A Terminal A opened in November 2023 and handles the airport’s scheduled passenger flights. The older terminals are no longer used for them.
Two names, one airport Zayed International was renamed from Abu Dhabi International in 2024. Bookings, tickets and searches still use both names, and the code AUH is unchanged.
Going on to Dubai Abu Dhabi and Dubai are about 140 kilometres apart on the E11, roughly ninety minutes, and one quoted journey — no border, no passport.

Abu Dhabi is spread out: the island, the airport and the mainland suburbs are a long way apart. Give us the full address, not just the city, so the journey is priced for where you are actually going.
