Domestic and international flights use separate terminals at Karipur. An international arrival has three things to clear before the kerb: immigration, the baggage belts and customs. This is the order they come in, with what to tell the booking desk along the way.
International terminal
The arrival block was built with 20 customs counters as well as the immigration desks, and with room for about 1,500 arriving passengers at its busiest. Every flight to or from abroad uses this side of the airport.
Domestic terminal
Flights within India arrive here, with no immigration to clear. IndiGo, for one, links Calicut with Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi and Mumbai.
The Gulf network
Calicut’s international routes run almost entirely to the Gulf: the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain. The airlines listed in October 2026 included Air India Express, IndiGo, Air Arabia, Etihad, flydubai, Oman Air, Qatar Airways and Saudia.
The whole family at arrivals
A homecoming from the Gulf can mean several relatives in the car as well as the traveller. Count everyone riding in the passenger number so the vehicle fits the whole party, add an extra stop if a relative joins on the way, and request any child seat when you book, with the children’s ages.
A flight from abroad lands at the international terminal and a flight from within India at the domestic one, so a Gulf traveller who changes planes at Mumbai or Bengaluru comes in as a domestic arrival. If the airline retimes the flight before you travel, pass the new details to the booking desk as soon as you have them.
